Running to help my battle with depression

I am a 38 yr old woman, and I am running to conquer my weight problem and to overcome my depression. I have just started running for the first time in my entire life. I am not fit, and am about 20lb (10kg) overweight, and to be honest never believed I would be able to run.
I have completed 11 sessions, and one month of run/jog cycles for 30 min per session. This has been an incredibly tough challenge for me, but finally I'm starting to relax and actually enjoy the sensation of running, able to observe my environment for the first time without suffering too much with my breathing.
I hope to run 10km minimum, my maximum goal is to run the Vancouver half marathon by May next year, is this realistic?
My hint is to just get to Week 4 and it really will begin to pay off. For the first time in my life I actually believe I am capable of getting fit and overcoming my weight problem and depression.
Keep running come what may...
