Get A Better Nights Sleep With A Memory Foam Mattress

A memory foam mattress is space age technology for your bedroom. Memory foam was initially developed by NASA in the 1970s to help astronauts deal with the huge G forces they experienced during takeoff.

If it can support an astronaut in a speeding rocket escaping Earth's gravity just imagine what it could do for your neck and back in bed!

So how does it work? Why is it called memory foam? Well, the foam in the mattress will absorb your body heat and mold itself to your body shape giving you support exactly where you need it. It's also ideal for couples, especially if one partner is much larger as it supports you both individually so no more rolling into those valleys!

Is A Memory Foam Mattress
Worth The Expense?

As you would expect this sort of mattress is not cheap. However, the term 'false economy' is never more relevant when buying a mattress. Just how important is a good nights sleep to you?

Yet, the good news is prices have come down dramatically as more manufacturers have entered the market but, as with any other item, the cheaper mattresses may not be the best option in the long term.

If you're unsure about investing in a mattress just yet you could try a memory foam pillow first.

These are now very affordable and once you see what it can do for your neck you'll be convinced a mattress is worth the investment for your neck, back and shoulders. There are a number of different styles available depending on your favorite sleeping position.

What To Look For When Buying A Mattress

If you decide to buy a memory foam mattress experts recommend there should be at least 4 to 5cm of the special foam in the bedding. This will provide the support where you require it.

Another feature to check is the foam density. Here the experts suggest a least 4 to 5lb density is by far the best as it will last longer and again give the best comfort and support. If the density is too low the foam will start to lose its shape quicker and you will no longer get the benefit of all over support.

The more you spend the better quality you will get and the best mattresses will come with a 10 year or more guarantee. This has to represent good value for money! Check out the new, toxin-free range by Essentia Natural Memory Foam Mattress
