A memory foam mattress is space age technology for your bedroom. Memory foam was initially developed by NASA in the 1970s to help astronauts deal with the huge G forces they experienced during takeoff. If you decide to buy a memory foam mattress experts recommend there should be at least 4 to 5cm of the special foam in the bedding. This will provide the support where you require it.

Another feature to check is the foam density. Here the experts suggest a least 4 to 5lb density is by far the best as it will last longer and again give the best comfort and support. If the density is too low the foam will start to lose its shape quicker and you will no longer get the benefit of all over support.

The more you spend the better quality you will get and the best mattresses will come with a 10 year or more guarantee. This has to represent good value for money!
