Hip Joint Connected To The
Thigh Bone ...

Hip joint. Ask most people to locate it and the majority will point about four inches above and outside to its true location. If this is where you think they are, are you trying to move your legs from this point?

Does your pelvis swing when you walk? If your body picture of your pelvis and hips is inaccurate it may effect how you stand, walk and run. You could be using the wrong muscles to move causing excessive 'wear and tear' on the joints.

Suffer from hip pain?

How to find your hip joints

hip joints Use your fingers to trace the bony parts at the front of the pelvis above each leg (anterior superior iliac spine).

If you are wearing trousers the points are generally at the opening of the front pockets.

Now walk the fingers down toward the legs until you find the dent (if you do a shallow squat you will feel where the legs meet the pelvis). This is where your legs should swing from.

The latest development in posture products are shoes that replicate what is was like to walk on bare earth. We spend most of our time walking on flat floors and the theory goes that the ankle joints do not get used as much as they should. These joints are important for activating muscles in your body by working with your inner ear and others such as your hip joint for balance.

Recent research has shown that people who live in areas with cobbled streets or no flat paved areas do have less problems related to posture. In one particular area in China its inhabitants have a much longer expected life span than the Chinese average. Their diet is the same so the research concluded it was because these people lived and worked in areas with very uneven ground. Sounds a little far fetched but the researchers believe that constant movement of their ankles helped to stimulate posture, circulation and digestion function.
