"Are You Frustrated By Inconsistent Performances Or Injury?
Discover How You Can Deliver A Peak Performance Time After Time By Getting Into The Zone"

In The Zone

This program has been updated and improved, more can be found at Peak Performance Training Program

Have you ever achieved the performance of your life, but at the same time, it felt almost too easy? Everything you tried worked to perfection. If you’ve experienced this, you were in The Zone.

But what about the other performances? You know the sort, the ones where you feel your talent has deserted you as you struggle to make the mark.

WHY THE GAP?

Now here is the crunch question I ask all athletes:

"Do You Know How You Got Into The Zone?"

The majority of athletes (even at international level) will answer NO.

This highlights an interesting fact, and that is, regardless of athletic ability there are still unknown factors that dictate your level of performance and chances of sustaining an injury.

I believe I have found one of these factors, and once you learn to control it, you will to take a huge step towards consistent peak performances and injury-free sport.

Hi, I'm Roy Palmer and I could have the answer to why you experience erratic performances or explain why you are not reaching your true potential. I definitely know I can help you recover from those annoying injuries that hold you back. You see it's all down to something you have probably never considered in your training and competition.

I have spent the last 10 years studying ways to enhance performance in sport and one area in particular; The Zone.

The Zone has achieved mystical status in the world of sport and it is not surprising to see why. It’s a paradox. How can a peak performance be achieved with such little perceived effort? Surely if we are working at the very limits of our ability it should be hard work and not feel like a stroll in the park.

"The time I spent with Roy (program designer) in the UK last year was both fascinating and enlightening. With minimal effort he had me moving and standing comfortably and with minimal strain on my body. He was able to get me to do a full squat without effort and with no discomfort, something I hadn't done for years, if ever."
Greg Chappell MBE
Former Australian Cricket Captain and current
Indian National Cricket Coach

"My sport leads to an increased muscular development on the dominant side and secondary twisting strains in the spine and pelvis. I have found that Alexander lessons have enabled me to use my neuro-musculo-skeletal system more efficiently. I have fewer overuse injuries and my recovery times after hard training sessions or competitions are shorter."

Sports Osteopath, England and GB Fencer

Learn How To Master
Your Mind And Body

peak performance Sport is an unpredictable activity. On some days you may feel completely in control and sink that difficult putt or run the perfect race with total confidence in you ability and judgement.

In contrast, have you suffered the opposite? Nothing goes right, the simple becomes impossible, you feel clumsy and incapable of carrying out your usual activities; it’s as if your talent has deserted you. This always puzzled me. In my sports of running and martial arts, how could I apply my skills so effectively one moment only to become totally incompetent the next? When the poor performances and injuries became more frequent and began to outnumber the good days I decided to take action.

After a number of failed attempts the answer to my dilemma came from an unexpected source that would radically change my attitude to sport and physical activity. Whilst trying to resolve a long-standing back problem I came upon The Alexander Technique. At my very first lesson the teacher pointed out something I was doing that made movement much harder than it should be. This ‘something’ resulted in using far too much effort to carry out even simple activities and yet I wasn’t even aware of it!

"I learnt more about my body in just 30 minutes of an Alexander Technique session than I had from over twenty years of training!"

This came as quite a shock. I had mistakenly thought that my years of running, swimming and karate training, whilst achieving respectable results, would have taught me at least how to move efficiently. Apparently not! In my case I had spent that time learning to do things badly and the longer I trained the better I got at doing things badly.

Are you using your body efficiently? How would you know?

Using the methods in this program, you will add an 'extra level of awareness' to your training. Previously unknown factors influencing your performance will come under your control as you learn how to apply yourself to your sport. This can have a remarkable impact on your movement, decision process and ultimately your performance.

By applying this program to my swimming, I have concentrated on maintaining good shape in the water, releasing the shoulder muscles on the recovery phase of the stroke and increasing the length of my stroke. I have paid special attention to my neck and the position of my head in the water.

This has brought about huge improvements particularly when swimming over longer distances. I am able to swim distances at a constant pace by maintaining my feel for the water rather than gritting my teeth, fighting the water and seeing my times drop off. This improves the quality of my training and most important of all, training is a lot more fun.

"I found your program very useful. Your explanation is clear and insightful. What has particularly helped me so far is I've taken the effort to be more aware of how I react and this has helped to undo some lifetime habits.

I've learnt how to focus in the moment and not on the end-results too much. I've learnt to 'let go' some unnecessary extra tensions that normally comes with competitions."

Hwai Tah,
Squash Player, Malaysia.

After several years of pain and injury I now run a few miles twice a week and I'm loving it. I'm starting to feel fit again and the speed it returning. Most importantly I have no ill effects from the running, quite the contrary, as it just makes me feel great.

Another thing I've notice is that my posture, both standing and seated seems to have returned to a naturally good state without needing to "try". I don't think a week passes that I don't feel grateful for this change. There is no doubt in my mind that your program has brought about this rather miraculous transformation.

Life is good and I'm very happy and content again after all those dark years. Keep up the good work!"

Runner and weightlifter, United Kingdom

Observe, Think,
Act, Achieve!

The Zone Fitness Program will bring a whole new dimension to your training by creating a subtle shift in your awareness to achieve quite remarkable results. The methods I use are based on The Alexander Technique, the world-renowned system for developing what I call intelligence in action.

The procedures will give you a totally different sensation of movement and show you how to take control of the factors that influence your performance; some of which will have been hidden until now.

This program is the result of ten years of experimentation, observation and application of Alexander principles to my own sports of martial arts and running and also by working with sports people in other fields.

One surprising fact I have observed during this time is that, regardless of ability or experience, many people appear unaware of the basics of movement and coordination. We make the assumption that we know how to move to get our bodies to do what we want.

However, this is simply not the case as the experiments in my program will demonstrate. I do not use exercises in the usual accepted sense because I believe they serve only to encourage an attitude that will keep you out of The Zone. Besides, how many more types of exercise do we need to learn? Do we really benefit from doing all these actions that have little in common with those of our sport, or, for that matter everyday natural movements?

"…the greatest advances may not result from the use of physical devices, secret strength training methods, the latest training fad, pharmacological agents or genetic engineering. Instead, neuro-scientific research …… and mind developing methods …… may well produce regimes of mental preparation that will massively enhance overall sporting performance."
Dr Mel Siff, sports scientist
